Chrstmas has come and gone...Now what?

Well as most of you have known, Christmas has come and gone not without leaving some wonderful memories behind.

Wednesday we invited our friends, The Proctors, over to frost sugar cookies and eat them too. They are a great family who help us stay sane in this crazy world. Denise supplies us with plenty of Diet Coke to soothe the soul.

We ate and talked for nearly 2 hours. Then we split for our respective family parties.

Ours began with eating homemade goodness at G-ma and G-pa's home.

The after dinner entertainment included the usual musical performances, this year included some different arrangements consisting of Geneil and Cindy (Flute & Piano). It was quite enjoyable and I wished they could have gone on longer.

It was a great Christmas. Now we are spending the weekend digging ourselves out of our snow tunnels. Today I measured on our Grill (7in) and a few spots in the grass (15-17in). CRAZY!! But i am loving every minute of it. :)

19 December 2008

2008 has been the BEST year of my life...thus far.

Boy how many blessings can i count that i received this year? A LOT. First of all i got to spend half of my year as a servant of the Lord as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Chrsit of Latter Day Saints, and the other half as a regular Mormon.
I was able to travel from Norhtern West Virginia to Central Virginia and see the Eastern Appalachian mountains come alive. Then i flew home to Utah, but hey it's still beautiful in its own way.
I was able to see this little boy, Dallas Ervin, get baptized a member of the Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter Day Saints. My brother found he and his Dad, David over 2 years ago and then along came me into the picture, re-found them and taught them the gospel. And the best part of all, my Bro was in town to witness this momentous occasion :)

After i got back to Utah in May i got a job working in customer relations with the Church. I cannot tell you how neat it is to start your day with a prayer with your coworkers. The church continues to amaze me at how wonderfu they are and what they do to help build up the kingdom of God. In fact today we were let go early because of the treterous weather conditions and we still got payed for it.
I am just grateful for my family

Whoopie it is time to update the old blogger. i just don't have enough time to make this a worth while thing for ya'll to read. and i heard this past week that some sick people are out there stealing other people's blogs and their memories as their own. Boy that's spooky.

But let's put some pictures on here so ya'll have some eye candy.

21 September 2008

Oh Boy! i have not updated this thing in a million years, but here it goes. well this picture is Ashley and i at an institute party, we are tied to the back of this thing with a bungee cord. It was a lot of fun.
Here is Ashley, Kim, and Chloe.
We were tired after dancing for about 1 hour and 1/2.
This was a super fun Friday night.

My lovely Brother and I. we got roped into this dumb ward party and we had to wear these ridiculous hats and scoop ice-cream. All thanks to Tara who wasn't even there. YOU OWE US!!

13 August 2008

Well here is Meranda Wood ( cousin) and I at the beginning of the WVC triathlon. We are so stoked. what a great experience.

So our final times were;
Meranda; 1:25:00 2nd in her division
Me: 1:19:07 3rd in my division.

Can you read?

So here are some people that obviously could not read. There was a sign at this secluded lake that said no wading. which means keep your dirty feet out of the water. So next time you are up in the pristine mountains pay attention and take your dictionary if necessary.

Hiking in the hills of Alta

So today my mother and i decided to take a little stroll up the mountainside in Alta, UT. we took the Cecret Lake trail head, a short 1.0 mile walk up 208 feet of rock and dirt.

Today i felt like i was in the Swiss Alps the only thing i forgot were my Lederhosen and a bugle. But oh the beauty of Utah, more people in this grand state need to enjoy their own backyard. C'mon people stop wasting money on overpriced unappreciated glory vacations!

LOOK! And i looked and oh my land. JULY 25TH and there's still piles and piles of snow in our lovely deseret.

My advice to all ya'll is to go out and enjoy the land we live in. Who needs to go to Oregon, Nevada, Colorado? STAY HOME!!

returning of the great Cowleys

so today was the homecoming of the Cowleys. my wonderful mission mom and dad who took care of me and my brother for 3 years while we labored in the West Virginia Charleston Mission (WVCM).

This here is President Joe Cowley and Peter (left) and Alex (right). He had to deal with us Stokers for the entire 3 years he served. But boy are we glad. "Sure love ya'
President."
This is sister Cowley and the family. She was our mission "Mom" fdor 3 years and luckily we didn't have to call her for medical help too much, but she was a hilarious person. I guess she still is cause she's "not quite dead yet."

the days have come

this is Meranda and i at the arts festival in SLC in June. we are standing in front of the no smoking campaign. notice my shirt? GO MOUNTAINEERS!!!

well bloggers what's new in the life of Peter?
what does that mean? you tell me. so here i am finally made my parents come out of the dark ages and we have finally got high speed Internet in out home and it is amazing. i thought i would let you all in on my life since my last post. hopefully i will be better and posting things.

so this is a picture of me and Elder Lawrence Mackay in Covington, VA. we are teaching David Ervin. we thought that this picture truly fit the missionary standard. believe me i think we should've been in Romania or Portugal. but nope we're in good old AMERICA!

21 June 2008

If you look sideways this is my G-pa Stoker's headstone in Preston, ID. today we took a road trip up there to look at his grave. it was neat because i have never met the guy nor did we know where he was buried 'til a few years ago. So this is really cool.

This here is my Great G-ma Frances' grave in Lewiston, UT. this was on the way back from Preston so we decided to stop here and look at this.

After we ate lunch at the yummy Juniper restaurant we meandered around the Logan, UT Latter-Day Saint temple. it was beautiful.

So that was our day. 21 June 2008. We ended the day with a HILARIOUS evening at Ichiban Sushi in downtown SLC. More funny things happened there than usually do to our little family.
